So what's the difference between integers and whole numbers?
Integers can be negative, but whole numbers cannot. Rational numbers can have fractions and decimals, as long as the decimals are not infinite without repeating. For example:
-3 1/3 is a rational number. -3 is a rational number AND an integer. 3 is a rational number AND an integer AND a whole number.
